Sunday Drive - Demo For Days

Sunday Drive - Demo For Days

I started to chuckle at the name I chose for this devotion. Demo for days... This photo is of our old bathroom that we demoed. We took down all walls. I want God to take down the walls in my life and demo those things in my heart that are not of Him. Hubby and I are quite familiar with demo days.... Not only in our little brick house, but we both want God to continue to renovate our hearts.

Christ lives in me, my heart is His home. What kind of home is He living in? What kind of home are you presenting Him to live in? Do you think you are offering Him a mansion with plenty of room to spread out? Or is it a humble little shack that needs a ton of work.

Matthew 23:27(NLT)
27 “What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs—beautiful on the outside but filled on the inside with dead people’s bones and all sorts of impurity.

Did you read that verse? Ouch! Some of us think we are offering Him a mansion, but actually it just looks nice on the outside. The inside is a complete money pit. It's moldy, broken down, not fit for a King.

Jesus is the best fixer upper! This is what He does best! With His grace, mercy and love, He tears down walls that keep us from living our best life.

Ephesians 2:10(NLT)
10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Demo can be painful and long, but He sees the finished result! He knows all that you can be! Trust Him.

John 10:10(NIV)
10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

He wants the very best for us! He wants us to live our life to the fullest!

Philippians 4:6(NLT)
6 And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.

Remember, He never leaves us. He doesn't run out of time or energy during renovations. He's doesn't get bored with the project. He can't wait to see the reveal!

Blessings,
Lori

I sometimes can't believe that this is our new guest bath. It's amazing what God can do in our lives.
