Every day, every breath is a gift from The Lord, every sunrise and every sunset. I may not always feel like thanking The Lord for this wonderful gift, but I try to regardless.
The very act of being thankful helps me remember who I am in Christ. It reminds me that I am His daughter. It reminds me that He is in control of all things. It basically helps me through every day in this fallen world.
Sometimes life feels like life is falling apart. We are being pulled in all directions. But Christ holds all things together.
Colossians 1:16-17(NIV)
16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
There is only 24 hours in each day. We only have a portion of that day to do 'all the things' that need to be done. What are your priorities? What is most important to you?
If we remind ourselves who is in control, and thank Him for the gift of each day and put Him first, all the other things will fall into place. At least a little more easily.
Psalms 143:8(NIV)
Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love,
for I have put my trust in you.
Show me the way I should go,
for to you I entrust my life.
That is such a beautiful verse. The more we bring Him into our day, the more He will show us the way to go.
Psalms 32:8(NIV)
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.
Our gift of life is held together better when there is a lot of Jesus in it. Take time each morning and start with Jesus.
