Sunday Style - He is The Lifter of our heads

He is The Lifter of our heads... think about that for a minute....

Psalm 3:3
But you, Lord, are a shield around me,
my glory, the One who lifts my head high.

He is protecting me.  That means He's close...close enough to touch my face. That speaks of intimacy. ❤️

How does He 'lift' your head?  He could call on us and we might look up or what if it was like this...

My Heavenly Father bending down to my level, close enough that he can gently put his hand under my chin, tilting it up in His direction so that my focus changes from all the chaos around me.  So, that I will look into His loving eyes.  (You know that feeling when you look into someones eyes and their love for you is so powerful and not one word has been spoken.)

At this point, all the cares and frustrations disappear from my view because now I can't take my eyes off of His face.  Now all my focus is on what's really important, His love and care for me.

This is how He reassures us.  He loves us.  He wants us to trust Him, knowing He will take are of us. He's doesn't worry about circumstances, like we do.  He just wants our attention.  Once He has it, His peace floods every part of our being and we are not the same anymore.

Think about this also... After a week of dreary weather or a long winter, your mind and body crave sunshine.  I know mine does.  I wonder why that is?  As soon as there is a sunny day, I can't wait to go outside and lift my face to the sun....  It's warmth fills me.  Hmmm.... which Son/sun am I lifting my head to?  Isn't it interesting?

So, in this time of chaos all around you, demanding your attention... Stop, listen, He's calling you to look up.  Pull yourself away from looking down, look up into His eyes.  His peace is like a river, it passes all understanding, never stops flowing. Once you look up, your fears, worries, and cares will grow strangely dim in the light of His Glory and grace.

Phillipians 4:7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

This isn't a once and done.... we are easily distracted.  This is something I need to do on a regular basis.  I want it to become a habit.  Something I can't live without, that becomes second nature like breathing or blinking my eyes.  Where I don't even have to think about it.

Wait...Did you hear that? My Father's calling me....

Blessings,
