Sunday Drive - Godly Contentment

Sunday Drive - Godly Contentment

What is Godly contentment? I believe that it is a state of peace that comes from completely trusting in God's amazing provision. He is going to provide ALL that I need.

Philippians 4:11 (NLT)
11 Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have.

This comes from trusting that God is going to provide for you in all ways. Do you believe He will? The path God takes us on isn't always the one we thought. It might not be as easy as you would like.

Living in a state of Godly contentment is a choice. This world is a crazy place right now.... But if you focus on who your provider is, that you are His child, and that He loves you with an everlasting love, then you have nothing to fear. I think the key here is to firmly fix your heart and mind to trust in The Lord.

Psalm 112:7 (AMP)
He will not fear bad news; His heart is steadfast, trusting [confidently relying on and believing] in the Lord.

You can have confidence in Him.

We are bombarded with messages to stimulate anxiety and insecurity. This is not what The Lord wants for you. It is necessary for us to use our shield of faith and our helmet of salvation to combat these messages. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you peace to live in Godly contentment.

No matter where you are or what you are going through you can be content. Whether you have much or little, everything we have is a blessing and gift from The Lord. It's all a matter of choice, whether you put your trust in The Lord, or in things of this world. With the help of the Holy Spirit, you can choose to put your trust in The Lord. Doing this on a regular basis encourages a life of peace and contentment.

1 Timothy 6:6-7 NLT)
6 Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. 7 After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it.

Blessings,
Lori

  1. Peace and contentment leads to a closer relationship with Our Creator. Living away from these is strife anxiety and everything else keeping us further away from God's love for us.
