Sunday Style - Why Do We Hold Back?

Sunday Style - Why Do We Hold Back?

Do you truly worship God? Do you worship Him with your entire being?

Worshipping God requires our entire being to celebrate Him. So why is it sometimes we are all in and other times we resist? Why is that?

Why the pull back? Is it because we are lazy? Aren't in the mood? Afraid of what other people think? Do we feel awkward? Do we think God will ask too much of us?

Isn't is interesting that the God who gives us everything freely for eternity wants to spend intimate time with us and we kind of put Him off. Lord, forgive me.

I want to learn to change my thinking to love and celebrate and worship you more!

Psalms 16:11(NIV)
You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

I want to learn to worship Him, more consistently, more abundantly, to linger in His Presence.

It's not what we "do" on the outside, it's what's in our heart. He knows our heart's desire.

1 Samuel 16:7 (NIV)
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

Samuel, was looking for the next king of Israel, and he was expecting to find a man that "looked like a king", but God had different plans.

The point is, God knows whether we want to worship Him or not. The choice is ours.

Praising and worshiping Him increases your joy, your faith, and your awareness of Him. All of this takes place in your heart where He knows us so intimately.

Chronicles 29:11(NLT)
Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O Lord, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as the one who is over all things.

Psalms 63:3-4(NLT)
Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. 4 I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.

Let's stop holding back. Let's worship Him with all that we are!

Blessings,
Lori
