Sunday Style Over 50 - Peace Be Still

Sunday Style Over 50 - Peace Be Still
This weekend I had a reason to get dressed and ready! 😊 Being with the worship team at church is something I have dearly missed! But we were able to get together and film a few worship songs for home church.  It felt so good to be with a few people from my church family!

This outfit was one I could fit in! 😜 Umm....  During this quarantine time, I've added a little padding... if you know what I mean.  But I'm working on it!  But a long loose tunic hides the effects of too many cookies...

Onto this week's inspiration,  praying this encourages you!

Is your heart restless?  Peace be still.

Mark 4:39 When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm.

In this chapter of the Bible, they were in the middle of a huge storm and Jesus had no worries... He was just taking a nap in the back of the boat.

We will all experience storms and peaceful times throughout our lives. Are you in a storm right now?  Jesus isn't worried.  He knows exactly how to handle your storm.  He promises to never leave you.

Deuteronomy 31:6 So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.

Who or what are you listening to?  What are you filling your heart and mind with?  Sometimes you need to just stop.  Turn off the TV and stop listening to negative people.  Is it lifting you up or dragging you down?

It makes a difference in more ways than you think.... A steady diet of negativity will only stir up more fear, and might make your storm seem bigger than it is...

One way to help yourself, is to saturate your heart and mind with scripture and worship music.

It's time to listen to the One who has power over the storm, who tells the storm to be quiet and be still! The One who goes before you, who will not abandon you.... What is He telling you?

What He says will comfort your soul.  He loves you and will help you through the storm.  Then you will see the clouds parting and the sun will start peeking through and calmer days will be ahead.  Your storm will end.

Do hear what God is saying? Shhh.... listen.... Peace, be still.
