Sunday Drive - Words of Peace

Words of Peace

The Lord speaks words of peace to us every single day. He assures us of His love. He speaks in ways that lift us up and transforms us into His image.

Often times we will hear words of accusation. Those are not from The Lord. Do not listen to them. Take them captive and push them out of your mind.

2 Corinthians 10:5 (NIV)
5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

The Spirit of God speaks to us in loving tones, not crushing words of shame. If we let the Spirit take charge of our mind, He is able to comb out the tangles of lies and deception.

With Christ living in you, His light shines. The enemy would have worries and fears dim that light. We have been set free. We no longer have to live with worry and fear, because The Lord is our strength. He takes care of us. Let The Lord's Words of peace wash over you.

Romans 8:1-2 (NLT)
1 So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. 2 And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.

Matthew 6:34 (NIV)
34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

In certain situations, you may want to be hasty and react with words that lack peace.... Instead, pause take a minute for the Holy Spirit to shower you with Words of peace. Give the Spirit time to show you a way to respond in a Godly manner.

1 Corinthians 6:19 (NLT)
19 Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself,

Hasty words and actions aren't leaving much room for Christ to work. He wants to be a part of every moment of your life filling you with His peace. Not only to receive His words of peace, but for us to share that peace with others.

Numbers 6:24-27 (NIV)
24 “‘“The Lord bless you and keep you; 25 the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; 26 the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”’

Blessings,
Lori
