Sunday Drive - Where Is Your Confidence?

Sunday Drive - Where Is Your Confidence?

I've learned in my years of following Jesus, that He is the only One I can put all of my confidence in. There are those that I can put some of my confidence in, like my husband, or a close family member or close friend. There's a level of trust that needs to be earned.

But with Jesus, He's already done everything to deserve my confidence and trust! He is worthy of it! (This next verse, was part of my memory verse for June. So, good!)

Psalms 18:2-3 (NLT)
2 The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the strength of my salvation, and my stronghold. I will call on The Lord, who is worthy of praise, for He saves me from my enemies.

This world is getting crazier and crazier, increasingly unpredictable and seemingly unsafe. Yet, God is our Rock, we can take refuge in Him!

Psalms 46:1-2 (AMP)
God is our refuge and strength [mighty and impenetrable], A very present and well-proved help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change And though the mountains be shaken and slip into the heart of the seas

There are going to be times where our circumstances will question our sense of security... where we feel like we're losing control. This is where we need His supernatural strength to rest in His Sovereign control.

God is always present with us. Even when we face unexpected and unwelcome changes. Even when we face disasters. Even when we face unexplainable loss, or even fear of the unknown. This is where we have to grab all of those loose thoughts in our mind, that are causing us anxiety and worry, and place them in God's hands.

2 Corinthians 10:5 (NLV)
5 We break down every thought and proud thing that puts itself up against the wisdom of God. We take hold of every thought and make it obey Christ.

We have to force our mind to remember who our confidence is in! Jesus! He is the one who holds us and carries us through.

Isaiah 464 (NLT)
4 I will be your God throughout your lifetime— until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.

Joshua 1:9 (NLT)
9 This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Blessings,
Lori
