God Healed Our Washer!

A crazy thing that happened right before we sold and closed on the Stonybrook House...

Stonybrook House Washer & Dryer

This is a photo of the mudroom that we remodeled last year at our Stonybrook House. You can see the entire transformation from start to finish, Laundry Room Transformation.

We thought we excluded the washer and dryer in the closing on the house, and so we moved them to our new little brick house. On the day of closing we got a call from our realtor asking us where the washer and dryer was... What? What do you mean?

Apparently, somewhere along the way, they got included with the sale.  Ugh! We totally missed it. Well, we had 2 choices. Either compensate them for the washer and dryer, or return them.

We chose to return them. Fortunately, the little brick house had a washer and dryer. We hadn't  planned on keeping them.  In fact, I almost gave them away.

Little Brick House Washer & Dryer

Before giving them away, I needed to make sure that they worked.  The easiest way to find out, is to run a load of laundry. I threw some towels in the washer and started it. A few minutes later... water is pooling on the floor... great... its leaking.... ugh. 😩 I used some more towels to soak it up. I couldn't give away something that was broken. Thankfully, the dryer worked fine.

So we disconnected it and moved it outside onto the patio.

Thankfully, we hadn't hooked up the Stonybrook washer and dryer. There were a couple of reasons why... The electric wasn't the right amperage for the newer Stonybrook washer, so that needed updating. Plus the Little Brick House had gas for the dryer.  The Stonybrook dryer was electric, so we were going to have to run new electric to the laundry room for that.

We just hadn't gotten to it yet... (God knew all along😉)

So, at the closing on Stonybrook we made arrangements to return the washer and dryer that afternoon.  We loaded them up on the trailer, returned them and hooked them up.

After that was done, now we needed to figure out what to do with the leaky washer...

Hubby checked underneath, looking for some sort of leak.  He took the hoses off and put them back on. He said the hoses looked great.

We decided to run a small load outside on the patio.  I wish I had taken pictures. We had hoses running in through the window.  It was quite comical. Anyway... no leak. What?! Omg!  It was working?!

I had been praying that the Lord would show Hubs what the problem was.

Well, let's haul it back in the laundry room, hook it up and see what happens.  We started another small test load. No leak! Yes!! Thank you, Lord! 😍

I thought, I'll run a load of towels. If anything will make it leak, a big load of towels will.

Nope, no leak! God healed our washer!! It's run perfect ever since!

We have asked God continually through this whole process of moving to lead us, show us His way and His will.

I'll admit, Hubby and I were pretty upset about having to return our pretty washer and dryer, but through this journey we're learning more and more to lean and trust in Him.  His ways are higher than ours.  He is taking care of us and providing everything we need.

Thank you, Lord!
Blessings,

  1. I will say that the ones at the little new house will wash your clothes better because it will actually allow water to get on to the clothes. I think you'll be happier with these older ones. My house came with one of these 'old' ones and it has been amazing! Who knew?!?! God provides.
