Sunday Style Over 50 - Unbelievable Joy

The miracle of life! What an unbelievable joy!
I am so excited for the birth of our first grandbaby!!

Just look at the joy glowing on their faces!!

Beautiful joy

Let's talk a little more about joy!

1 Peter 1:8-9 (NIV)
Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy,  for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

Who doesn't want a joy that is inexpressible and so wonderful that you can't even speak about it?  I do!!  Some people struggle with this...  Why?  I'm thinking it's because they are only focusing on the things happening around them.

Joy is independent of circumstances.  Did you know that you can have joy regardless of the tough times life throws at you?

There is a spring that flows freely from the throne of grace, it isn't hindered or stopped by difficulties in this world.

Psalm 16:11 (NKJV)
You will show me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

In His presence is joy unspeakable... that's where I want to live everyday.

The joy of The Lord is limitless.  It never runs out.  We can live in it at all times.

There are going to be tough times in our lives, but we can live in joy through them.

If we choose to focus on those hard and trying times, we could have the tendency to ignore the joy of The Lord.  We have to refocus and hang on to the joy of The Lord within us.

Sure, we are going to be unhappy at times.  I can get sad or upset about circumstances.  Happiness comes and goes and is mostly affected by things that happen around us.  Those things don't affect my joy.

Joy on the other hand, is different... it comes from resting and trusting that The Lord God Almighty has everything in my life, in His hand.  It comes from knowing that He is my salvation.  He has cleansed me and written my name in the Book of Life.  He is my rock.  He has filled me with the joy of the Holy Spirit.
My joy comes from within where Christ lives.

Nothing in the world can take joy away from me.... except myself.

I choose joy!

Psalm 5:11
But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them sing joyful praises forever. Spread your protection over them, that all who love your name may be filled with joy.

Blessings!
