Sunday Style Over 50 - God Is Timeless

Sunday Style Over 50 6.28.20

I hit the jackpot this past week!  Lately all of my favorite stores have been very slim on inventory... I mean some even have empty racks!  I've never seen anything like this!

So, I've been hitting the stores periodically to see if anything has been stocked.  Well, I hit Ross Dress For Less, at the right time for dresses! 😍  And since you can't try anything on in the stores, I took it all home with me!  I think I'm keeping 4 dresses from there!  This is one of them.  A simple dress I can wear just about anywhere!  Here's the deal.... $14.99!  That's my kind of deal! 👍

Today's devotional...

Have you ever thought about how God dwells in timelessness?  We on the other hand are consumed with time.  God controls all of time but isn't effected by it, not like we are.

Revelation 1:8 (NLT)
"I am the Alpha and the Omega - the beginning and the end, " says The Lord God.  "I am the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come - The Almighty One."

I sometimes wonder why He gave us only 24 hours in a day.  Maybe that's all our bodies could handle.  I'm sure if we had more we'd use it up just as quickly!  A limited amount of time protects us.

I read this in a devotion recently, about time being a tyrant.  It ticks away relentlessly in our minds.  Learn to master time, or it will be your master.  Ouch!  That one hurt....

Ephesians 5:15-16 (NASB)
Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil.

I love making lists!  I have a list for just about everything! They are good because they keep me organized, yet those lists can gnaw on me.  Always reminding me that they are there... It's continual.  It takes effort for me to lay them aside.  Even first thing in the morning, when I want to spend time reading The Word, those 'To Do' lists are calling to me.  I chose to put them away and set that time apart for The Lord.

I don't want to be driven and consumed by time.  Especially, when I spend time with my Lord and Savior.  He knows we are time-bound creatures, but He wants us to stop and spend time with Him.

Oh, to spend time with Him in His timelessness!  That's heaven!  As we take time with Him, the demands of this life and lists begin to diminish.  The things to do will always be there....  This moment in time will be gone in just a second.

We can't get those seconds back, we can only look forward to use the ones in the future.  We don't know how much time we will ultimately have here on earth, so let's spend our time wisely.

James 4:14 (NLT)
How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow?  Your life is like the morning fog - it's here a little while, then it's gone.

I want to spend more with Him.

Matthew 6:33-34 (NLT)
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.  So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring it's own worries.  Today's trouble is enough for today.

After reading this verse, it tells me that if I am making time for God first, then He will give me all the time I need for my 'To Do lists'. 😊  After all, He is The Redeemer.  If He can redeem me, then He surely can redeem time!

Blessings!
