One Thing Leads To Another... Books To Painting?

So... Have you ever had one small project that you think will be quick and done that lead to another and so on.... and then it seems you have a project going on that you never dreamed you'd be doing...yeah, that's kind of what happened...

I've shared about how I'm slowly (but surely) going through the KonMari Method of tidying up.  Let me tell you, it's going slower than I thought. You can check out my earlier posts, the one for Clothing and the one for Books. The 'books' one is what got me into all of this 'mess'. Yes, we went through all our books, which is great! I just didn't imagine all of this going on. So, here's how we got into this project.

We emptied out the three large 8 ft. bookcases. Yay! 😊 We were left with this...

Bored Out Of My Mind!

(FYI this post contains affiliate links. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.)

Most people say they would be bored staying at home and not having a full-time job. In all of my 25 years being a stay at home mom/wife, I have never been bored… Until now. This is me bored...

Shoulder Surgery Progress ~ 3 Weeks

Hi there! What!? 2 posts in 2 days??? I know crazy, right? 😜 Haha! I'm just rolling with it...

Well, I thought I'd give you an update on the progress I've made since my shoulder surgery.

It's been three weeks since I had my rotator repair, which also included removing calcium deposits and a bone spur.  Let me tell you, this has been quite the journey. There have been ups and downs, but I am moving right along. The hardest part for me has been being strapped to this sling for the last three weeks.

Healthy Banana Blender Muffins

Healthy Banana Blender Muffin

Hi there! Today I'm going to share one of the recipes I made prior to my surgery. I was cooking and baking up a storm a couple weeks before, in order to stock up my freezer.

This Healthy Banana Blender Muffin is now a favorite of mine. It froze amazingly well and is delicious and easy to make.

I also made some scrambled egg, sausage and veggie muffins. Those didn't come out quite as well. They tasted great right out of the oven, but they were nasty after they were frozen. I forced  them down a few times for breakfast... but then decided I just couldn't eat one more! I dumped them ALL in the trash! 😝

scrambled egg, sausage and veggie muffins

They were weird... It's like they were sponges, they were full of water. I could literally squeeze water out of them and the texture was like a sponge too! The were awful! Blech!!

But these Healthy Banana Blender Muffins were awesome!

And they were a snap to blend up! What could be easier than tossing all the ingredients into a blender?

There texture was perfect even after being frozen and heated up.

Here's my super easy recipe.

Organizing and Purging {My Linen Closet}

Hi there! I'm so glad you stopped by! Today, I'm going to share my messy to organized linen closet.

I'm learning how to write a post one handed and left handed.... The result of my shoulder surgery, you can read about that here.

Too Much Time On My Hands

It's been quite a challenge. But with the help of technology and talk to text, I just might get the hang of it.

Before surgery I was cooking up a storm and doing some cleaning. I had finally had it with my linen closet and decided it needed to be completely purged.

I'll be completely honest, I hadn't touched, organized, or cleaned this closet since we moved in. That was 7 years ago! 😳 I know, you're shocked! Don't be... sometimes things have to bug me long enough before I'll do anything about them. This was one of them.

So, I decided to empty the entire closet. Of course I didn't take a photo before. That's just the way I roll. As you can see I have way too much junk in there. I had things in there I haven't touched in years.  Time to purge.

See me in the mirror? (peace out ✌)

It feels really good to purge crap from your life, doesn't it? For me, it just seems so cleansing. Why do we hang onto things? Who knows!

This post isn't going to have some magical new way to organize your stuff. Its about just getting it done! Stop putting it off. Whether it's a closet, cabinet, drawer or whatever, sometimes we need a little push to get started. So, here's your push. 😊

It's gonna feel great once you do it!

I was able to get rid of bags of trash! Now a fresh start.

I can't believe how clean it is. The drawer unit has toothbrushes, toothpaste, extra razors, small items like that. Cleaning products on the bottom shelf.

I know that all my baskets don't match and I don't have cute labels hanging on them either. I'm working with what I have. I really don't want to go out and spend more money on more baskets when I have plenty.

Now maybe during the summer I'll pull them all out and spray paint them to match. I mean really, I'm the only one that's going to see them. 😎

Basically, I kept only what I really use. In the baskets, I have hand soaps, body creams, and body sprays. I have a thing for Bath & Body Works if you couldn't tell...😊

Also, there is a container for my hair dye supplies, nail supplies, travel items, etc. Hubby only has one container and that's for deodorant and shave cream.

I don't think it's necessary to spend a lot of money just to get organized.

I could've easily used cardboard boxes or shoeboxes and covered them with wrapping paper. I've made plenty of organizers with cereal boxes.

Voila!  Organized!  It is so much easier to find things now. Aren't you glad I pushed you? 😉
