Sunday Drive - Divine Mysteries

Sunday Drive - Divine Mysteries

His ways can be sooo mysterious. I will not even attempt to understand. Even those who are incredibly intimate with The Lord do not understand His ways.

Isaiah 55:8-9(NLT)
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. 9 For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.

Do I leave room for 'divine mystery'? I sometimes wish I could understand... especially when I'm struggling with a situation and I wish I knew what to do! But sometimes that's when you just need to wait and allow The Lord to do His thing.

We must accept that we only have a limited understanding and knowledge. The Lord is not predictable or controllable, but the one thing you can count on is that He is ALWAYS trustworthy.

I think of poor Job and all the excruciating struggles he went through, and yet his words say that he continued to trust in The Lord. This verse is so powerful!

Job 1:20-22(NLT)
20 Job stood up and tore his robe in grief. Then he shaved his head and fell to the ground to worship. 21 He said, “I came naked from my mother’s womb, and I will be naked when I leave. The Lord gave me what I had, and the Lord has taken it away. Praise the name of the Lord!” 22 In all of this, Job did not sin by blaming God.

Lord, help me to trust in You, even when I don't understand what or why something is happening, or what the future holds.

But I love what Job said in the end....

Job 42:1-3
Then Job replied to the Lord: 2 “I know that you can do anything, and no one can stop you. 3 You asked, ‘Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorance?’ It is I—and I was talking about things I knew nothing about, things far too wonderful for me.

These are the divine mysteries... things too wonderful for me to know.

Blessings,
Lori
