Sunday Drive - A Hymn Of Praise

Sunday Drive - A Hymn Of Praise

I just had to share this gorgeous Japanese maple tree from my backyard. The color of this tree is magnificent. We love this tree in every single season, but especially fall. 😍

Since this is the week of Thanksgiving, I thought I'd focus on thankfulness.

Over the years, at our Thanksgiving table, we would always go around and say what we are thankful for. Sure, it's easy to find something to be thankful for.

How often are we saying something we are thankful for, but grumbling or complaining in our minds. And yes, doing it all at the same time. I can just hear my kids in their younger years... saying they are thankful for their family, and probably saying in their heads at the same time, 'why do we have to do this every single year?'

The world is a little cray cray right now... your world might be a bit crazy or terrible. Yet, I'm sure there is something you can find to be thankful for. Still, I want to challenge you to take those thoughts of complaints or grumbles to the Lord. Talk with Him about them.

The more you brood over them, the more negative you will become. In fact, you can thank Him for those things that bother you. He's allowed them in your life, and He already knows about them.

Gratitude draws you to The Father... Let the light of His face shine upon you. This is one of my favorite verses.

Numbers 6:24-26(NIV)
“The Lord bless you and keep you; 25 the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; 26 the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”

His light can break up the fog of negativity in your mind, and can enable you to see and hear clearly.

All of this communication with Him will bring your mind into thankfulness and you will also find peace and joy in His presence.

Things might not change, but your perspective and mind can change. You might even find a new song in your heart....

A hymn of praise.

Psalms 40:3(NLT)
He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord.

Blessings,
Lori
