Sunday Style - Intimacy With The King

Sunday Style - Intimacy With The King

It is amazing that we have the opportunity to have an intimate relationship with The King of Kings and Lord of Lords. This is a privilege that The Lord extends to us. Yet, at times we think more highly of our selves than we ought to.... and act like we are His equal.

We are not.

Romans 2:3(NIV)
3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.

It is a challenge to strike a balance of worshipping Him as King of Kings while walking hand in hand with Him. He knows this. He helps us.

He paid the ultimate price for our freedom from sin. Which makes it possible for us to know Him so intimately, to be His friend.

James 2:23(NIV)
23 And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,”and he was called God’s friend.

John 15:13(NIV)
13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

We can share a wonderful joyous friendship with Jesus, like no other friendship. We just need to be careful not to overstep and treat it carelessly. An irreverent attitude will damage that intimacy. He loves us regardless and will gently correct us.

We need to remember His majestic Presence and repent. When we repent of our sin, we are immediately embraced with His love and forgiveness.

Luke 15:20(NLT)
20 So he got up and went to his father. “But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.

He wants to walk with us through this life.

Psalms 16:11(NLT)
You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.

John 8:58(NLT)
58 Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, before Abraham was even born, I AM!

Lord, help us remember who You are.

Blessings,
Lori
