Sunday Style - New Year New Beginnings

Sunday Style - New Year New Beginnings

For some 2020 has been a super tough year, and for some it's been a great year.  Just look at this little blessing from heaven we received in 2020.💗💗💗

For Mike and I, it's been and incredible year! Were there some hard parts? Yes, but hard doesn't mean bad. We have been stretched and pulled, but we have grown and that is good!

Growth isn't necessarily easy, but the results are so worth it.

Philippians 1:6(NLT)
And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.

We each have a unique path that God paves for us. It is designed just for you. No one else can walk your path. It is filled with all sorts of adventures that God wants to share with you.  Some will be hard, and some will be wonderful, but as we walk along this path we are connecting and growing with our Lord and Savior becoming the person He designed us to be.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT)
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

Our focus word for 2020 was 'Simplify'. Little did we know how that word was going to impact us. We never imagined how our lives would be simplified....

For some reason, when a new year starts we equate that with a new start, a new beginning.  Not that I don't mind, sometimes we need to put things in the past, let go of them and push forward.

2020 was a crazy year and we have a lot of memories from it, but I am excited for 2021. If 2020 could be a good year in the midst of all the chaos and confusion, then 2021 has the potential for being a fantastic year!

I have no idea what God has in store, but His plans are always good. Always. There is never a doubt in my mind.

Ephesians 2: 10 (NLT)
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

So, we've been contemplating and considering what our focus word would be for 2021.

The word, alignment, seems to be speaking to us.

Are we in alignment with what God wants in our lives?  Is our time in alignment? Is our marriage in alignment? Are our finances in alignment? Are my eating habits in alignment? The list goes on and on.

What does alignment mean?

One definition is a state of agreement or cooperation among persons, groups, nations, etc., with a common cause or viewpoint.

Another definition is the proper adjustment of the components of an electronic circuit, machine, etc., for coordinated functioning.

Like the alignment of your car... if you alignment is off, your car sort of wants to go in it's own direction.  You almost have to fight with it to stay on course.  I do not want to fight with God's course or direction for our life.

So, this year, we are going to work on our alignment. It'll be interesting to see how this impacts us in 2021.

Blessings!
