My Fashion Over 40 ~ Where Do We Go From Here?

Well, hello, there!! It has been such a fun week! I sooo enjoy spending time with my daughter, chatting, decorating, baking and shopping. Then on Saturday, Hubby and I went to his work's Christmas Party.

This week's Fashion Over 40 is what I wore to the Christmas Party.... and then I wore it to church. What? Don't y'all ever do that? Come on... of course you do!

I had a great outfit in my head that I wanted to wear to the party, but that one did not work out at all. I was struggling trying to find something to wear. So, I started showing different outfits to my daughter (the fashionista!) She started rummaging through my closet. Pointing out the fact that I have too many clothes in there that are too big and don't fit right... :/ I know, I know...

Anyway, she says did you look at your tank tops? And she pulls out this little top! Oh, I had forgotten about that one... Then I remembered these ankle pants and there you have it, an outfit! My "go to" sequin cardigan and some pumps and we are set. I'd like to keep her around more!

I always seem to wear my hair down, (which she also mentioned) Soooo for church, I thought I'd do it up in a cute pony tail. (Still learning about my camera...I think I had that flash on way toooo high!)

I just love the look of those messy bump pony tails. There are a few tricks to get it to look like this.

Where Do We Go From Here?

Our church is in a transition.  If you've been reading my posts, you'll know that our pastor of 28+ years just retired and our associate pastor was elected to take the helm.

He encouraged us to be praying for the staff for protection, priorities and holiness.

So, where do we go from here? Are we going to sit and play it safe? Stay comfy? No.  We need to keep focus on what God is doing and not get distracted by the things and circumstances around us.

Pastor shared a bit of info I didn't know before, about the children of Israel.  Did you know that is could have taken them about 3-4 days to reach the Promised Land after they left Egypt? Well, if you know the story it actually took them 40 years!  That was because of their disobedience. Hmmm... The path of obedience would have gotten them there in less than a week. Lord, help us to be obedient so we don't have to keep going around the mountain!

He also asked that we would be in prayer as to how we can reach out to our community, to be a family and show His love. He even challenged us with a family in need in our community. We are going to try and make this a blessed Christmas for them with food and gifts for the mom and her 3 teenagers.

John 13:35The Message (MSG)

34-35 “Let me give you a new command: Love one another. In the same way I loved you, you love one another. This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples—when they see the love you have for each other.”

This is a very good way to start this new journey, this new beginning.  I'm excited to see how God is going to work in our lives and in our community!

Blessings,
