Sunday Drive - I Need Strength!

Sunday Drive - I Need Strength!

Life has been wonderfully busy! We went on a fabulous cruise with some friends and took this photo, while we were golf carting around Grand Turk. We happened to find this beach by accident. It was one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen! It was absolutely stunning! Stunning!!

Then my daughter delivered a healthy precious baby girl in May. She is so adorable! This is my 3rd grandbaby!! 😍 I am sooooo blessed!

One more wonderful blessing!! My son and daughter in law and grandson bought a house right around the corner from us!! What!? Yep! All of these wonderful things happening all at once!

Which leads me to this week's devotional, which I wrote several weeks ago, but fits so perfectly right now.

Because life is getting so busy, I can get tempted to skip out on my devotions or do a 'condensed' version. It happens now and then, that's the reality of life, but...I don't want it to become a habit.

Spending time in The Word and with my Lord is what feeds my soul the strength it needs! Besides, I truly love and look forward to my time in The Word and prayer.

Philippians 4:13 (NLT)
13 For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.

The time I spend with The Lord, empowers me, filling me with inner strength. With The Lord, I feel like I can accomplish just about anything!

It's when I get tired, and feel worn down that those pesky thoughts invade... "just relax, one day without The Word, or prayer isn't going to hurt anything." While that may be true, I also know that I would never consider starting my day without coffee (I LOVE COFFEE!) or breakfast. If I can make time for that, I can make time for some devotions.

For me, the best way to combat this is to wake up a few minutes earlier. Don't look at my phone. Grab a cup of coffee and head straight to my Bible. I want to dive into The Word before I dive into my day!

Psalms 5:3 (NLT)
3 Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly
.

This feeds my soul a healthy diet of Jesus! Just as a healthy breakfast gives you the energy for the day, saturating your soul will give the inner strength and energy for the day! Not to mention the peace you will feel knowing you are not alone. God is with you every step of the way.

Asking The Lord to come alive to you throughout your day, through every circumstance.

Psalms 37:4-5 (NLT)
4 Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires. 5 Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you.

With your soul and spirit filled with Christ you can approach each day with confidence and you can be ready for whatever comes your way!

Alright! Now I'm ready! Thank You Lord, for Your Presence, Your Power, and Your Peace!

Blessings!
Lori

  1. Lori- so much do we have to be grateful! I too have been incognito from following your wonderful posts. Life happens as we well know. What stands out today is that I also have a new grand as of May 1st (also my 3rd grandchild). My middle son's first born baby boy and wow that baby love is something special. God sure knew what He was doing there! Also that whole thing of waking in the morning to spend time with God first- Agree 100%! So true. As a compass sets the direction of our paths, spending time with the Lord does the same as far as the path of life goes. I believe that wholeheartedly and hope that it shows.
I want to thank you for being faithful to these posts. They are such a light in a not so light world. Blessings and peace. JE
