Sunday Drive - Finding Time for Jesus

Sunday Drive - Finding Time for Jesus

Life has gotten a bit busy and chaotic in our house. Wonderfully good, but different. Our prayers have been answered! My son, daughter in-law and 18 month old grandson have moved back to PA and have been staying with us for now.

And anyone that has any interaction with an 18 month old knows how busy they can be! I am enjoying every single minute of it!

Lately, it's been a bit more challenging to find time to read my Bible and enjoy my time with The Lord. I know I am not the only one, most of us are all living busy lives. I was just used to being an empty nester, where my mornings were more leisurely.

So, I've had to adjust and make a few changes, because I don't want anything to separate me from my Lord! His word says that nothing can!

Romans 8:38-39 (NLT)
38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

This is one of my memory verses this year, and it has been so encouraging to me. Nothing in all creation can separate us from the love of God!

This busyness has made me want to cling to Him even more! Because I need His strength!

Isaiah 30:15 (NLT)
This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: “Only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength.

Yes, rest in The Lord Your God and you will be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength. So, if you are feeling weak or restless, it may be because you need some quiet time with Jesus.

The key is to find that time. We all have the same 24 hours in our day. It's what we chose to do with those hours.

For me, I've found I need to get up much earlier to find that time alone with Jesus. You might find it on your drive to work, or when the baby takes a nap, or on a walk in the evening.

Don't beat yourself up if you've struggled finding that time. Maybe you're in a season, where you just need hourly check-ins with Jesus. He's always there! He's always ready to help!

Psalm 36:7 (NLT)
How precious is your unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings.

Find shelter in the shadow of His mighty wings. You will find comfort, joy and peace.

Blessings,
Lori
