Sunday Drive - Living In The Present

Sunday Drive - Living In The Present

Matthew 6:34 (NIV)
34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Living in the present is not always easy to do.... However, that verse clearly states that God does not want us to be overly concerned with tomorrow or the future.

We need to strive to live more fully in the present. Striving means to make great efforts to achieve or obtain something. It also means to struggle or fight vigorously. Hmm... Another definition is to devote serious effort or energy.

So, in order to live more in the present, we need to work at it! I have purposefully been enjoying God's creation right now. The season is changing, the leaves are turning and falling. On my walks, I'm kicking through the leaves and thanking the Lord for the season I'm in right now.

Live in the present, in His Presence! That's the key! That's where I want to live every single day.

There's a lot going on in this present day... many things that can tempt us to have concerns, or worry, or even have anxiety. We need to re-read that verse... Today has enough trouble of it's own.

We can be confident that God is fully aware of all that we are facing each day. He promises to be with us. He promises to strengthen us. He promises to hold us up!

Isaiah 41:10 (NLT)
10 Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

Striving to have a close walk with Jesus, is the best way to live in the present. I also believe that if we are living that walk close to Jesus, bringing Him all of our thoughts and concerns, we will find comfort. We will find peace. He is all that we need!

Christ is always with us. He takes delight in us. We can let Him have the struggles of tomorrow. Let's find joy in today! Go out and kick up some leaves!

Zephaniah 3:17 (NLT)
17 For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”

Blessings,
Lori
