Sunday Drive - It's The Little Things

Sunday Drive - It's The Little Things

This week we will be celebrating Thanksgiving. When the kids were younger, we'd ask them during our Thanksgiving dinner to share what they are thankful for. Of Course, it would be basic things like, our family, or our house, or their toys.

It was so sweet, but over time as they got older, we asked them to think a bit harder and find something that wasn't so obvious.

God is so present in our lives. Can you see Him? Are the eyes of your heart open to truly see what He is doing in you, through you and around you? Are you taking note of all the little things? God does. He even  knows the number of hairs on our head.

Luke 12:7 (NIV)
7 Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

I think that sometimes we are soooo distracted in this world of videos, reels, posts and photos that we forget to take time for what is most important. We need to pull ourselves away from the idols of this world and choose to seek Him. This requires mental discipline. It's soooo easy to get lost down the rabbit hole of social media.

1 Chronicles 16:11 (NLT)
11 Search for the Lord and for his strength; continually seek him.

When did you last take time to just sit, think about His goodness in your life, thank Him for all the little things. Next time you do, go a step further...listen for His voice, listen to the sounds of nature, the wind, the leaves, the birds, children playing. All of creation was created through Him for us.

John 1:3 (NLT)
3 God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him.

Thank Him when you are enjoying something beautiful. It pleases The Father and it makes it even more beautiful for us.

Keep looking for the little things in life to thank Him for. He is always present in the good times and in the hard times. All of our times are in His hands. You can trust in Him.

Psalm 31:15-15 (NIV)
14 But I trust in you, Lord; I say, “You are my God.” 15 All my times are in your hands;

Blessings,
Lori
