A Tour Through Blogland With The Stonybrook House

Leslie from Puddy's House asked me to participate in the Tour Through Blogland that is making it's rounds right now. I thought "Why not?" I'm always up for a little fun! Ready. Set. Go!
Tour Thru Blogland
So, I'm going to introduce you to Leslie from Puddy's House that invited me and Gayle from Miss Kopy Kat.  Oh, and I'm supposed to answer a few questions about myself....

These two ladies are amazing!!  Both of them have full time jobs AND blog, that in and of itself is unbelieveable.  To me that means that they love what they do enough to share it with all of us!

First up is Leslie. I met her at my first Haven Conference a few years ago and we live only a couple of hours from each other. She is a Human Resources Manager and her blog is kinda like mine, a little bit of this and a little bit of that, from DIY projects, thrifting, cooking to taking yard sale items and turning them into something beautiful! And where did the name of her blog come from? Her sweet little dog, Puddy!

One of my favorite things she's done is her Folding Chair Make Over.  Didn't they come out great?!
I also love what she's done in her backyard.  What a beautiful place to relax.  It's her Outdoor Paradise.

Head on over to her blog and check out all the other great things she's been up to.  Thank you, Leslie for asking me to join in the blogland fun.

I guess now is the time for me to answer a few questions about myself....

1. What am I working on?
I kinda have a lot of projects I'm working on right now. Revamping my living/dining/kitchen area is what I've been focusing on lately.
Dining room
I've been painting, working on my dining table, painting lamps and organizing more drawers!
This Drawer Organizing System I use, is still my top post and has had almost 318,000 hits! Crazy right?? Yet, every single drawer I've organized this way has stayed organized! That's amazing to me!

2. How does my work differ from others?
I don't really think I'm all that different, I just do things the way I like them.  Everyone has different styles and tastes. The one thing I do a bit different that I haven't seen a lot of is (My) Fashion Over 40. This year I thought I'd throw in a new twist to the blog, by adding a fashion element.  I'd like to do more, it's just all about time.  Here are a few of my favs...  :) You can click on the pictures to take you to the post.

3. Why do I write/create what I do?
Sometimes I ask myself the same question...  As the kids grew up and have moved out, I wanted/needed something for me.  This is an expression of my life and who I am and what I enjoy. Plus it's given me great motivation to decorate and renovate our home.  We've only been here 5 years and I STILL have so much to do!!

4. How does your writing/creative process work?
Kind of ADHD.... I sometimes feel like I am all over the place.  I like to have a couple of projects going all at once, even though it can overwhelm me at times. And I have a hard time actually "finishing" a project. Hubby and I were talking about this just the other day.   I'll get started on something, have great motivation.  Then I'll get to a point that I'm not sure what else to do to it, to "finish" it.  I'm having that problem with my dining room table right now, but I have to finish that!  I mostly work by what I "feel" like doing.  So, there really is no rhyme or reason to how I work. I certainly haven't figured it out yet, but it doesn't bother me, because this is me, it's who I am. Thank God, Hubby is a relaxed kinda guy that goes with the flow. :)

Finally!! Done with me.

Now on to this lovely lady, Gayle from Miss Kopy Kat!
I also met Gayle at my first Haven Conference.  She is a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

She writes under the alias of "Miss Kitty" and she has been blogging for three years.  She enjoys sharing her trials at trying to copy looks that she sees on other blogs, Pinterest, magazines and real life as she decorates her home and for parties and weddings. She likes to put her experiences in tutorial form so her readers can be copy cats too!

Here are a few of my favorites from her blog! Aren't these awesome??!! So creative! Here's her post Using My Noodles.

Then there are all of her Summer Tutorials! There are quite a few I want to try and copy myself!
Here's one of them.  Do It Yourself Starfish, you'll never guess what she made these out of. Genius!

So, be sure to check out these two cool bloggers. Puddy's House and Miss Kopy Kat.
Once again, thank you, Leslie! This was fun!

Thanks for stopping by and reading!
Blessings,
