Sunday Drive - How To Increase Your Joy!

Joy, like love, can grow and increase in your life. You can have very little of it or you can have great amounts of it.

Psalms 16:11 (NLT)
11 You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.

One way to increase your joy is to thank The Lord joyfully for forgiving ALL of your sins. The ones from the past, present and future. The ones you know about and the ones you don't.

Let the promise of eternal life with our Father God, fill you with joy! We have no fear of the future, because Jesus met our greatness need... forgiveness. He met that need perfectly and not just once, but forever!!

1 Peter 1:3-4 (NLT)
3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, 4 and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay.

And because He met that need perfectly and forever, our future is priceless and secure! We never have to question, because nothing can separate us from the love of God! Remind yourself of that promise. It will fill your heart with joy!

Romans 8:38-39 (NLT)
38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The more we thank God for all that He has done, the more joyful we will become. If we do this regularly, it becomes a reminder, every time, of how blessed we are. The more thankful, the more joyful!

The problem is, sometimes we focus on and complain too much about the problems in our life. Doing that kind of sucks the joy right out of our heart. Sure, we're all going to experience tough times and sometimes even horrible times, BUT we have HOPE in our Lord and Savior! He is faithful to bring us through!

Psalms 16:11 (NLT)
11 You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.

Be on the lookout for things that fuel your gratitude and fill you with joy. When you pray, when you sing, whisper, shout or even read the word out loud, this increases your joy. It lifts you above your circumstances into a place of hope and joy.

Romans 15:13 (NIV)
13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Blessings,
Lori
