Sunday Drive - Be Courageous

Sunday Drive - Be Courageous

(I took this photo when we were at the DC Zoo this summer. To me lions represent strength....)

Being courageous isn't always easy, but it is always possible!

Hebrews 13:5-6(NLT)
For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.” 6 So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?”

Think about that verse... We can have that kind of bold confidence! The problem is... do we truly believe it, especially when we are in the midst of truly tough situations.

That verse doesn't say that 'bad things' won't happen. We all know that they will. It is a declaration of courage through it all. His Presence makes ALL the difference!

We tend to focus on the problem and wander into 'what could go wrong? what could happen?' and leave Christ completely out of the scenario. Stop! He said He would NEVER leave you. So, we can't leave Him out of the problem.

In 1 Samuel 21-23, David was constantly being hunted down by King Saul. Danger faced him left and right. Yet, he wrote this Psalm, while running for his life.

Psalm 27:1(NKJV)
The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?

I think David understood how powerful and wonderful The Lord was and that He faithful to take care of Him. David believed he would be alright. The Lord is strengthening you and encouraging you to be strong and courageous. You will be alright.

Deuteronomy 31:6(NIV)
6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Psalm 23:4 (NLT)
4 Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.

This life is a journey, filled with highs and lows. We will all go through them, no one is immune. Yet, we can go through the valley and be courageous. With Jesus we will make it!

Blessings,
Lori
