What a brisk morning today was... fall was definitely in the air! I was feeling super casual this morning. That usually means a comfy pair of jeans, a t-shirt and a sweater.
Today's devotion is on being aware of the battle, the battle for your mind.
This battle for control is real. The world is alway pulling for the high ground. It throws all kinds of thoughts of greed, selfishness, cynicism, and fear at us. We are being bombarded everyday... the list could go on and on...
2 Corinthians 10:5 (NKJV)Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ
But God also gives a little taste of heaven... when we focus on Him.
When we shut off the world and bask in His presence.  That's where we find life and
  peace.

  1 John 2:15-17 (NLT)
Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love
the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. 16 For the world
offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we
see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the
Father, but are from this world. 17 And this world is fading away, along
with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God
      will live forever.
When we sense this struggle going on in our mind, we need to stop and
pray.  Pray for protection and discernment.
By staying in close communication with The Lord, He will guide us through the
battle.  We have to grasp His hand and trust that He is our
deliverer!  He has already won the battle! His Spirit fills our minds
and we can rest in His presence!
    Romans 8:6 (NLT)

So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But
letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.

One day, our minds will be free from this battle... when we will be with
Jesus forever in heaven!  But until then, let's be on alert.  Let's not give the enemy an inch!

    Psalms 27:8(NLT)

My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” Your face, Lord, I will seek.
