Hi my name is Lori!
I'm so glad you stopped by.
I thought to myself one day.... I should start a blog!
I have this beautiful new home
that I have completely neglected
for the last 6 years!

Hubby and I are empty nester's and
now we have time to spruce this place up!
I want to share how I'm going to turn this
 builder basic home into something

I love to decorate!
I love to craft!
I love to shop for bargains!
I love to sew and crochet!
I love to get my fingers dirty in the garden!
Most importantly I love the Lord my Savior
and my wonderful hubby of 27 years!

It should be quite a ride...
I hope you enjoy the journey with me!

  1. Hi Lori-

Thanks for the nice note. I am an empty nester, too - although my oldest brought her cat home with her when she graduated from college and in Nov. brought a dog home from Africa to stay with Mom and Dad until she comes back from her Peace Corps service in another month. So I have new furry kids :)

I think Haven is going to be one great conference. I am looking forward to meeting you. I love the desk organizer you made - you did such a great job - I love projects like that. I am redoing my own home office now and am on the look out for ideas.

    Thanks for connecting with me.

    My best - Diane

  2. Good job love the level of professionalism that your diy's turn out! mine, look like something I bought at a garage sale. lol But, I figure one day after enough practice all will turn out wonderfully! I started a blog to, getting ready for the empty nest! I couldn't see buying the magazine holders so I made mine out of cereal boxes. That doesn't work out to well, especially if you buy your cereal from Aldi's. But it'll do for now.

    1. Hi Jacke! Thanks for your sweet comment! I'm sure you are your own worst critic! I'm sure that those magazine holders came out fine! I just happen to have those one around the house! And I shop at Aldi too! I Love Aldi!! :D

  3. Hi Lori! Saw your FANTABULOUS idea about the mail organizer on Pintrest. For some reason I can't seem to get the tutorial to come up. The date of your post was Thursday, February 23, 2012 and the title was Mail Organizer!! DIY On The Cheap!! I would be so thankful if you could post the tutorial again as one of my resolutions is to get organized :)

    1. Thank you! I don't know how I missed that in my project gallery, but I just added it in today.

  4. Lori, it was wonderful to meet you this weekend and I hope to see you next year (Haven can't come soon enough)!

  5. Hi Cheryl! It was so nice chatting with you at Haven! Hopefully we will see each other next year. I'm looking forward to your new blog about needs of the over 50! I'm almost there.

Comments are awesome! Let me know what you think!
