Looking Back At 2017

Hi Friends!  Happy New Year! And I hope you all had a terrific Christmas, too!  Here we are in 2018... Crazy right???  Thought I'd do a quick recap on 2017. 😊

How many of you remember my Shoulder Surgery?  Therapy consumed my entire winter!  Whew!  So glad to be over with that!  Longest 8 weeks of my life in that sling!

Shoulder Surgery

I'm so thankful to say that today, I am 99% back! I have full range of motion and strength. Yay!

I can't believe I'm saying this, considering I've made a bunch of wreaths... but this year, I made my very First Spring Wreath.  I can't wait for spring to put it back up!

The den got a little TLC this year... I painted a wall, easing back into the swing of things from my shoulder surgery. I also updated the shelves in there, giving them a vintage vibe.

One of my favorite projects was making these Vintage License Plate Crates.

The highlight of the year was my daughter's shower and wedding! I had soooo much fun working on her bridal shower. 😍

Before you knew it, the leaves were turning colors, the sun was setting sooner and we were in the thick of fall.... I decided to go a completely different direction with some of my fall decor.

One of may FAVORITE recipes this year... I mean FAVORITE!!! Like Hubby and I want to eat this every week kind of favorite!

This recipe is perfect in every way! 💕

The last project I'm going to share, is one that I felt great accomplishment in doing.  My porch planters were something I dreamed about making for years.  I just never made the time for them.  I am sooo glad I finally did!!! Hubby was a dear to help me with them!

That was a quick year! Now we are jumping right into 2018!

So what's in store for The Stonybrook House in 2018? Two things I know for sure!

One, I'm dropping the ads on my blog.  I have had too many complaints with spammy re-directs and trouble actually reading my blog. I'm not saying that I won't ever have ads again, but hopefully the problems I've been having will stop. 😊

The other thing I have planned is a complete master bedroom makeover.  Hubby and I will be celebrating 30 years of marriage in February and we have NEVER decorated our bedroom.  I have some really neat things in store and I can not wait to get started. Yay!

I've been contemplating a few other things and honestly, I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I've considered bring back some fashion posts.  I can't really do the Fashion Over 40 again, because I'm a bit over 50 now 😉... but I'm thinking about something along those lines.  I've also considered doing recipes on a more consistent basis.  I love healthy recipes, but I also love to indulge in cake baking, so we'll see...

When I look back on 2017, I have so much to be thankful for! God has continued to be faithful to me as always and I am thankful for all His many blessings.

For 2018, I'm excited for the new year and I can't wait to see all that God has planned....💗💗💗

Happy New Year!!

Blessings!

  1. Are you ever returning to your cluttering? I find her methods most fun.
