My Fashion Over 40 ~ The Nature Of God

What a weekend! Had a great visit with my daughter,  found out my nephew and his wife are having another baby girl, and finished up a project in the living room!! :) If your curious about the project you'll have to wait, but in case you don't know what I'm talking about you can check out what I was working on HERE.

Remember, I told you I found some new brown boots!!? Here they are! So comfortable and what a deal! Just under $20!

My Fashion Over 40

I picked them up at Kohls.  I had a 30% off coupon, plus a $10 off $10 coupon, and they were on sale!! Score! The skirt I've had for a long time, its just one of my shorter ones, that I'll only wear with tights.  So, I don't wear it much. The top, I've also had for awhile, but it was in the "sewing pile". I was just going to get rid of it because it was too big, but I decided to take it in. At first, I took it in too much, then had to let it out and retry it.  That time it worked perfect! Now, I can wear it again!

This weekend, my daughter really pushed my butt to use my camera in manual mode. I've always been so intimidated by it! But she's taken a few classes in college and helped me with a cheat sheet. So, in my rush Sunday morning, I didn't make sure my camera was straight and the flash was a bit too bright, but.... I shot this in manual mode! Yay!

Our Pastor shared about how wonderful and faithful our God is!  This list describes the nature of God.

1. God is good.
Amen!  He isn't waiting in heaven ready to strike us with lightening.  He is a good and amazing father.

2. He created a good world that fell through sin.

3. Someday, God will re-create the world and it will be good again.
Revelations 21:1-3 NLT
I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them.
That sounds pretty good to me!

4. God is stronger than evil.

5. God allows evil and controls it.  He offers help to those who want help.
Matthew 11:28-30 NLT
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

6. God uses everything both good and evil for His good.
He uses the tough things in our life to mold and shape us.  If we believe He is Soverign, then He doesn't waste anything to change us.

7. God despises evil and will one day completely destroy and eliminate it.
Not here and now, but in that new heaven and new earth. Amen!

I thought it was good that our Pastor explained that we don't have to understand everything.  We just have to trust Him.
Isaiah 55:7-9 NLT
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. "And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.  For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts."

God can be trusted to be with us and see us through to the end.

Blessings,
