Count Your Blessings {Wood Art}

This little sign has really been a staple in my fall decor.  It's a good reminder to be thankful.

Fall is such a beautiful time of year, here on the east coast.  This photo is from 2012, when we went to visit my son at college.

Gorgeous Fall Day

My style has definitely changed since 2012.

Fall Mantel 2012

What spurred me to make this sign was that it felt that the mantel was missing a little something....

Hubs always has some sort of wood hanging around.  I found this piece and cut it to the size I wanted.

Nice toes...šŸ˜

This is where I was thinking it would go.

I wanted something that works with fall and thanksgiving.

I love this. We all have so much to be thankful for. I definitely need to count my blessings more.

This is one of the easiest ways to make a sign.  I've used it over and over... All you have to do is print up the words you want and trace it onto wood.  You need to press really hard to leave the imprint on the wood.  Of course, it's easier when the wood is soft, like this piece.

I used a tiny paint brush and began to paint.  I probably should have taken more pics, but I forgot.  šŸ˜

Here is another example of the tracing technique, Together Sign from a old wood door.

Together Sign from a hollow core door

On the 'Together' sign I used a paint pen, which is my favorite way of making signs now.  It's soooo much easier!!

I decided to use a gradient effect on the word blessing.   I am really pleased on how it came out!!  Now in 2020, I found a new place for it in our living room.

I felt it just needed a little something more, so i added a leaf in the corner.

Let's all remember to count our blessings!
