Ultimate BLOG PARTY 2012

I am a little late for the party here, but I made it!
This is really cool!
If you are interested in finding other awesome moms that blog, click on over to the party and see for yourself!
By the way, there are over 300 just in one category! Amazing...

So, maybe in this post, I'll tell you a little bit about who is behind
 The Stonybrook House.

I'm pretty new at blogging (I just had my 2 month bloggy birthday) and I would have to say that about a year ago or so,
I was CLUELESS to what a blog actually was.
Can you believe it?
Somehow, I stumbled upon Thrifty Decor Chick and
my world changed and has never been the same.

I was born and raised in California, where I met my wonderful hubby of 24 years!  We  moved to Pennysylvania with everything we owned in a UHaul truck
 over 21 years ago!
We knew we didn't want to raise our children in Los Angeles
and felt the Lord directing us!
It was a leap of faith, it was the best leap we ever made!
(Especially for us Leepers, hahaha, my last name)

I can't believe how fast time flies!

My son was almost one when we made that trip, and now he is finishing up his Junior year in college, majoring in Computer Science.

My daughter was born a couple of years later, and she is now just finishing up her freshman year in college, majoring in Graphic Design.

I know, I hear you... Oh my!... two in college....
Yep! The Lord is good!

So, this was the PERFECT time for me to start blogging.... I'm an empty nester!

Hubby and I love the time they are home
and love the time when they are away at college.
It's given us a chance to spend more time together and spend more time doing things around the house.

The Stonybrook House is where I live....
 a house
 on a street called Stonybrook.
It has been a way for me to share all the things I love!
Decorating very cheaply, crafting, sewing, gardening, baking, crocheting, etc...
I haven't even shared them all yet,
but we are getting there.

Here are a few of my most popular posts...
The Lord has blessed us, is forever faithful, and I am grateful that you all stopped by to take a looksee!

  2. Lori,
We're from L.A. too and moved out to Colorado by the Lord's leading. We're planting a church (hubby is a pastor). I loved reading your story. I can't believe you have two kids in college. You look so young.
    Blessings,
    Lisa
